Q. 你如何定義自己的角色?
導演的世界,是一秒 24 格的動態思考;而我,專注於千分之一秒的凝結瞬間。我不只是攝影師,我是視覺的翻譯者——把劇本的文字語言,轉化成觀眾一眼就能感受的影像語言。
Q. 作為名導之子,你如何走出自己的路?
我是曹瑞原導演的兒子,但我選擇走自己的路。早期我刻意與父親保持工作上的距離,選擇在其他劇組從頭學起。我參與了吳宇森導演的《太平輪》、范冰冰主演的《王朝的女人·楊貴妃》等國際大製作,在那裡我建立了國際級的片場工作標準。
Q. 時尚攝影的經歷如何影響你?
2014 年,我有幸擔任 YSL 全球平面形象廣告攝影師——這是台灣攝影師罕見的殊榮。巴黎時尚圈對細節的極致追求,深深注入了我的創作基因。這讓行影的作品在傳統影視劇照中獨樹一格。
Q. 你追求什麼樣的影像風格?
受名導張毅影響,我追求的畫面是「像篇文學小說——舉重若輕,卻一針見血」。我相信一部影視作品肯定擁有許多不同的樣貌,而這正是我們能發揮的著力點。
Q. How do you define your role?
Directors think in 24 frames per second. I focus on freezing a thousandth of that moment. I'm not just a photographer—I'm a visual translator, converting the textual language of scripts into imagery that audiences can feel at a glance.
Q. As the son of a famous director, how did you forge your own path?
I'm the son of Golden Bell Award-winning director Tsao Jui-Yuan, but I chose to forge my own path. Early in my career, I deliberately kept distance from my father's work, learning from the ground up on other sets. I worked on John Woo's 'The Crossing' and 'Lady of the Dynasty' starring Fan Bingbing—that's where I established international-grade production standards.
Q. How did fashion photography influence you?
In 2014, I had the honor of becoming YSL's global print campaign photographer—a rare achievement for a Taiwanese photographer. The Paris fashion world's obsessive pursuit of detail deeply infused my creative DNA. This makes our work stand apart from traditional film stills.
Q. What visual style do you pursue?
Influenced by director Chang Yi, I pursue images 'like literary novels—seemingly effortless, yet piercing to the core.' I believe every film and TV work has many different faces, and that's exactly where we can make an impact.
